2004 was a pretty great year — my first entire year living in New York City. Here’s some of the highlights:

• After dating for a few months, Jeff and I decided we were officially boyfriends.
• Shortly thereafter, I met Jeff’s parents for the first time, and have since attended a number of family events.
• My mom visited NYC and met Jeff. Even more improbably, Jeff went with me to my brother’s wedding. I still can’t really believe I’m finally out to my entire family.
• I joined the Gay Gotham Chorus (which Jeff was already a member of) and have enjoyed making music.
• Jeff and I went on vacation to Washington DC — the first adult vacation I’ve ever taken.
• I saw a ton of great theatre (according to my spreadsheet: 26 musicals, 7 plays, and 3 cabarets). Highlights included both the original and later Broadway staging of Caroline or Change, Dog Sees God, and a recent concert production of Pippin. And, I won the Tony pool!
• Every other Monday, I’ve gone to the Big Quiz Thing with Jeff, Mike, Dan, and a few others. We’ve never won 1st place (and have slipped from the top five after our music-expert Greg moved away); but in a crazy anonymous place like NYC, it’s nice to have a place where I’m a regular.
• Four months ago, I turned 30. And just like everyone told me, my thirties are rockin’.
