When I first moved to NYC, I didn’t think I’d ever figure out how to navigate the subway without a map.
But last night while going to meet Jeff at Urinetown, the 2/3 line was down and I immediately thought, “I can take the A/C to W 4th and transfer to the F for 42nd St.” And this morning when I was at Union Square and the 4/5 wasn’t running, I immediately thought, “I can take the L over to 6th and transfer to the 2/3 to get home.”
Maybe I’ll turn into a New Yorker yet.
Nah, otherwise I would have just cabbed it.
I’d been wondering since I moved here how white people got around the city, because I always see disproportionately few Caucasians on the subway (and many of them turn out to be European tourists). Then, when Brad was visiting the city, we rode in a cab three times during the course of an one evening. And it wasn’t even cold outside.
