Dialect Survey. The regional dialect difference that’s really been of interest to me lately is how people from St. Louis say “TacoBell” with the stress on the first word instead of given both words equal weight and conversely say “Pizza Hut” as two distinctly stressed words instead of slurring them together as one word with stress on the first syllable. Of prime interest to my friends lately is how I pronounce golf (“gahf”) and wolf (“wuf”) without an L-sound.

My husband (whoo-hoo! I think that’s one of the first times I’ve called him that) also says woof for wolf. were-woof. hee!
