You know you’re a gay boy when… all your friends grew up watching G.I. Joe, but you were digging the truly outrageous Jem instead (okay, I watched G.I. Joe too, but probably because I had a crush on all those big, burly military men).

Jem is probably the perfect cartoon fantasy for the budding gay boy — the fabulous clothes, the double lives and secret identities, the creation of and instant transformation into a new appearance and level of popularity… and that kick ass, girl-pop theme song. Oh, how I wanted to be a Jem girl.

It’s a little freaky to watch this commercial and remember how much I wanted one of those dolls.
