I got really excited when I saw this URL advertised in the Chronicle of Higher Education: weblaundry.com. I live 4 flights above my dorm’s 3 washers and dryers and have always wished that I could check over the web to see if they were free (instead of carrying all my stuff down there).

But, alas, it just turns out the name of the (40 year old) laundry company is “Web Laundry”, and it doesn’t have anything to do with being able to check the machines over the web (but they do have a telephone interface that lets you call up to see if they’re free – how 1990’s!).

After searching the web, the only laundry machines I could find connected to the web are at MIT’s Random Hall laundry room.
