I’ve been pretty lonely and dateless for a while, but God help me if I ever resort to picking up people in AOL chat rooms. This interesting article from Salon examines this growing phenomenon. I consider myself to be a fairly “wired” person, but I steadfastly refuse to get into meeting people online (through chat, IRC, etc).
I’ve been privately musing lately about the gay community and their use of the internet (wondering specifically if a higer percentage of GLBT people have personal homepages than straight people). I was interested to read in the article that the research firm Computer Economics estimates Internet use by GLBT people at 10 percent higher than the general population. (via Bradlands)
