Students fighting back
After my school banned Napster last week, some students put together a group to protest the decision. They’ve now joined up with a national group collecting petition signatures from all the schools which have banned Napster.
I’m waffling on the issue. Matthew the librarian is concerned about copyright issues. Matthew the computer administrator is concerned about network traffic. But Matthew the student rights advocate and music enthusiast is concerned about the blocking of only one specific service and the hindering of music groups to spread their music through free mp3s.
