I don’t even know where to start in regards to the Schiavo case. I’m increasingly disgusted by how the Republicans break their own tenets for political convenience. Digby neatly summarizes several of more glaring inconsistencies in this case [via]. And the mainstream media is inexplicably ignoring how public opinion is at odds with the President’s and Congress’ actions
The growing cultural divide in America is making me so depressed. I’m particularly morose today over reports of Imax theatres in the South rejecting films that contain references to evolution. Director James Cameron says it’s due to a “shift away from empiricism in science to faith-based science.”
Jeff and my parents can take this blog post as my express wish to not to be kept alive artificially if I were in a similar medical condition. And I certainly hope any doctor attending to me would be using some good old-fashioned empirically-founded medical practices and not “faith-based” healing.
