Mike's soon-to-be-gone wisdom teeth

Jeff and I are at the Duplex, wishing a bon voyage to Mike‘s wisdom teeth, which are being removed tomorrow at 9am. Mike suggested taking a photo of them for posterity, so Jeff held my keychain flashlight while I took this photo with my Treo.

Update: After my last beer, I ordered a “cola,” which prompted a discussion of soft drink preferences. Mike applauded my switch to Pepsi since moving to New York, noting that it was the choice of liberals and that Coke makes donations to Republican candidates. I asked in turn, “Is that why Pepsi is blue and Coke is Red?”

Good luck! Do be vigilant about ice packs (frozen peas in my case) when you get home — it really helped me some years ago.

Anita — yes, Frozen Peas make great ice packs (and I gave Mike that advice last night). I discovered that I actually liked peas when I had my wisdom teeth out and cooked the peas after using them as an ice pack.

Coke may donate to conservative candidates, and perhaps I ought to be taking that into consideration, but it doesn’t *taste* conservative. Sophisticated, deep, intelligent, creative, inspiring, pretty much nothing that I would associate with the GOP. Pepsi is sugar, carbonated water, and food coloring.

(Is this a cola flame or a political flame? 😉

If you drink something like a half-gallon of pineapple juice the day before you should be able to avoid the swelling altogether.
