Presto-Change-O!

As Jeff and I got on a NJ Transit train today to ride back into the city after Thanksgiving with his family, I started going on past to the next car to find a row of seats facing the direction the train was moving in. Jeff called me back and blew my mind as he switched the direction of the seat. I’ve ridden NJ Transit several times and had never seen anybody do that before.

Fortunately, I had my new Treo 650 with me and shot this short video (Quicktime) of the transformation.

You’ve never seen this before? Really? The MetroNorth and LIRR trains feature this as well.

You probably need to have the most recent Quicktime player to be able to open this video format.

The Metra in Chicago has something similar, though often you have to flip the back of the seat over. Imagine the back of the seat doing half a somersault. Crazy design.
