Hit or Miss

Entries from Apr 2004

I have truly lost faith in the American public after last night’s American Idol results show. My girl Jennifer was sent home after a credible performance of “Weekend In New England” (say what you will, a lot of Barry Manilow’s music is deceptively difficult to sing). And Fantasia and Latoya rounded out the bottom 3? WTF?

But at this point, I’m almost tempted to join the crowd voting for John Stevens (just to see his look of utter shock and discomfort each week as he gets passed on).

Still no GMail account

No, seriously. Who do I have to fuck to get a GMail account?

Two of my former RAs from Truman who use Blogger got invites today (my Blogger account is still more or less active, but I didn’t get an invite). And, I’m a registered Orkut member; but that hasn’t netted me an invite either.

@ sign added to Morse Code

Somehow this morning Jeff and I got on the topic of Morse Code and he mentioned that the @ sign was just added for email addresses. I wondered why you couldn’t just signal “at” instead of adding a new symbol, until I realized that my email address would render as Matt@HitOrMiss.org or M@TatHitOrMiss.org (which Jeff suggested would be the blogger at a site about unfortunate tattoos).

Comments working again

I thought it was weird that my blog had gone two weeks without any comments, but then Richard let me know the form was throwing errors when he tried to post a comment (Thanks Richard!). Everything should be working fine now.
