Farewell to NYC
It’s hard to believe — as I type this from my parents’ house in rural Tennessee — that I was rolling back into my NYC apartment this morning at 5:30am. Last night, I watched Kiki and Herb at the Bowery Ballroom with a bunch of folks, then went to The Duplex with Mike, Dan, and Jaye, and later for an omelet at the Waverly Restaurant. After a few hours sleep, I finished up some work in my office and then jetted out to Newark to catch my flight to Chattanooga (following a similar, though slightly less convoluted, travel itinerary to Aaron’s).
I miss New York City already.
Speaking of Kiki and Herb… I have to admit they were a little bit of a let down. I’ve heard stories about the amazing backstory these two performers have created for their characters, but there were only momentary glimpes of it during this Christmas special (which had to be one of the most sacrilegious events I’ve ever witnessed). Put that together with my recent visit to see Jackie Hoffman’s Hanukkah, and I’ve been a bad little Christian boy this year. Maybe I should try to going to temple with Jeff…
yay for Chatta-Vegas, Chatta-NoWhere! i’ll be in Chattanooga on Thursday. oh the excitement! I can’t wait to see the metropolis again. drop me a line sometime
