Man pushed onto subway tracks

My biggest fear on the crowded platforms is being accidentally pushed in front of an oncoming train. For the second time in a few week, it’s happened at the Union Square Station (which I go in and out of 3 or 4 times a week).

I actually worry about that a lot when I’m in Union Square, especially on the 4/5/6 platforms, where it can get so crowded that people are overflowing up the stairwells.

Eh, we were talking about this, and I think the vast majority of people who are pushed are involved in altercations. Acquaintance pushing, if you will. And the overall number, compared to the number of people who use the trains every day, is miniscule. Much less than the number of people who die every day on their drive to work.

It’s never happened to me, but it’s my number-one concern.

Really. I always step to the middle and watch my back when the train’s coming. Too many horror stories.
