Monsanto Hid Decades Of Pollution in Alabama town. And my students from St. Louis don’t believe me when I rant about what an evil company Monsanto is.
None of them has read Jonathan Kozol’s classic, Savage Inequalities (excerpt). They don’t know that it happened not far from where they grew up (in East St. Louis), and now I know it also happened not far from where I grew up (in Anniston, AL).
Ugh. My dad started his engineering stint at Monsanto, I think. Glad he wasn’t there long.
