my TiVo has risen from the dead. Basically it was a matter of the 2.5 upgrade being downloaded to partition 7 but the boot parameter still setting partition 4 as root. I just had to switch it in the diagnostic menu and I was up and running. Only now, everytime I hit the select button, the TiVo makes a loud squawking sound — even when the menu sound effects are turned off!
