FindYourSpot.com. As I start to think about where I’d like to work for the 2002-2003 academic year, I took this quiz to recommend cities that matched my tastes and came up with the following results…

  • Gaithersburg, Maryland
  • Baltimore, Maryland
  • Charleston, West Virginia
  • Champaign/Urbana, Illinois
  • Green Bay, Wisconsin
  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Frederick, Maryland
  • Annapolis, Maryland
  • Oak Park, Illinois
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Madison, Wisconsin
  • Eau Claire, Wisconsin
  • Oshkosh/Appleton/Neenah, Wisconsin
  • Sheboygan, Wisconsin
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico
  • Medford, Oregon
  • Portland, Oregon
  • Washington, District of Columbia
  • LaCrosse, Wisconsin
  • Kenosha, Wisconsin
  • Santa Fe, New Mexico
  • Oakland, California
  • Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Sacramento, California

I’m interested in the University of Wisconsin system, so that’s cool, but where the hell did Maryland come from?

Maryland is cool! Of course, I’m biased – my family is in Balto.

I’m just amazed that Little Rock ranked so low for you. Everyone I know who took it wound up with Little Rock in their top ten, no matter what their criteria were. Wonder if it’s sponsored by the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce …?

Apparently no one on earth wants to live in New York, myself included. I expect the rents to start dropping any day now.
