Winterize your apartment.

Winter has descended upon Kirksville and I am caught in its icy grip. We have very poor windows in our residence halls, so the housekeeping department provides clear plastic sheeting and duct tape to residents to line their windows (I wish we were given something like this).

We lined the window in my office the other day, but there are so many leaks in the window casing — and it was so windy — that the plastic threatened to rip away from the frame (see photo).

Add to that the building’s outdated, inefficient convection heating system, and it looks like I may just want to hibernate until March.
