Marshall Dyllon

Marshall Dyllon. I was flipping the channels and came across the video of yet another generic boy band. But I was momentarily confused because I was on CMT.

Turns out that producer Lou Pearlman, the mastermind behind such pre-fab groups as N’Sync, The Backstreet Boys, and O Town, has turned his eyes towards country. He teamed up with Kenny Rogers to recruit 5 goofy looking kids, give them a silly band name, and put them through their paces to record an album.

*shudder*

Marshall Dyllon are not 5 goofy looking kids, they happen to be very talented individuals who have worked very hard to be where they are today, so don’t judge them just because you think they are the typical “boy band”. Maybe you should see them perform and then you can judge them, K?

Listen here, Marshall Dyllon is not a bunch of pretty boys like the other boy bands, they are real men and i say this casue I have met and im also related to the lead singer and he is not a pretty boy by no means, he is a good old farm boy that has amazing talent.

Marshall Dyllon is NOT just “another boy-band”, as some people have put it. They are excellent singers who deserve WAY more credit than they are getting. Come on yall! Don’t be rude toward Dan, Todd, Jesse, Michael, and Paul! They’ve worked hard to get where they are now! Be supportive to these great guys!

Marshall Dyllon is a great group. They’re talented and happen to have a lot of fans. I think it’s ok for you to voice your own opinion but I just want to let you know that not every one thinks that they stink or that Marshall Dyllon is just another “Boy band”
There’s MY opinion!

I think that Marshall Dyllon is one of the BEST groups. The first time I saw their video I thought it might have been South 65 (another great country group) They I thought I noticed the guys. Like Paul I really recognized from Making the Band and I noticed Lou. But I really think that both South Sixty Five and Marshall Dyllon are the best groups. They may be like N SYNC and bsb but they aren’t. They both worked hard to get to where they are now. Just be nice to them or don’t say anything about them. Thanx.

Marshall Dyllon is not another “boy band”! They are really talented…you can tell by listening to their new album. When it comes out on December 5th, you know I’ll be in line waiting to buy it! MD is something different that country music hasn’t seen much of, yet they are being embraced by country radio and CMT viewers. Keep up the great work, Paul, Michael, Daniel, Todd, and Jesse; you all are doing a great job!

I was frightened, yet interested when I saw Marshall Dyllon on the country station. I’m not into country, but I saw a red haired guy singing and I immediatly stopped and watched. They’re a country boy band, but they’re a cute country boy band! And they have a natual red head which you NEVER see….unless I’m wrong…I have no clue…But Marshall Dyllon have my respect.

At first sight of MD I, too was taken back by Paul formerly of MTB. And the apperance of Lou Pearlman was frightening, but Paul was wonderfully talented and “Live it Up” is a really catchy tune. I would love to get the record, even though I am not really into country! I wish them success and would love to catch ’em live!

I don’t understand-what is so worng with being in a “boy band”? A lot of these BOYS can sing any number of us under the table, so to speak. I guess the Oak Ridge Boys and Statler Brothers are just boy bands. Just because Marshall Dyllons boys can move around when they are singing, they’re doomed to be the boy band of country music.—-But, I do have two complaints: Why are all the girls in the video aneroxic? And, why can’t I find any of their Music?!!! They are great! I am soooo glad Paul left “Making the Band”, ’cause you know that he would have made the cut, and O-Town ain’t cutting it.

Personally I think that it’s a good idea to have a so called “country boy band” They are a very talented group and some people just need to give them a chance . No one liked all the other boy bands when they broke out into mainstream , but now I would almost bet that 95% of people know at least half of the words to a Backstreet or ‘NSYNC song . Come on people give something new a chance .

Ok, Marshall Dyllon is an extremely talented group. They are not just the typical boy band. I took a group of high school senior boys, who are into rap and r&b, and who dont usually like country at all, and had them listen to some Marshall Dyllon songs, and they loved them! Now they are into country! SO, that just shows that Marshall Dyllon is an awesome group! Keep it up guys.

Well, I had to set the record straight here…for one – Lou Pearlman did not name the band, they came up with the name themselves. Two – Kenny Rogers has been in the business a long time and would not sign a band based on their looks alone. I saw these young men perform with just a guitar and I can tell you that they are very talented and not some “manufactured” group. And before you dismiss my comments by saying I’m some hormone crazed teenie…I happen to be old enough to be their mother…good music is good music no matter what the genre or what your age is! Music should be fun and Marshall Dyllon’s music is fun!

Its me again but I do have to say, right after Christmas the next day, when we went to Wal-Mart I went straight to the cds and I found the album. My brother had $20 to get boots so I got $20 to get the cd. It only costed $13 somehthin but it was worth it. MD has one of THE BEST albums out there. Way to go boys. Them and South 65 are the best groups out there. Better then N SYNC and BSB. Its so true too.

Soon to be country singer/songwriter soon.

I bought their cd the first day it came out and i’m totally in love with Daniel!!!! I don’t think you should go judging people when you don’t know anything about them!!!!

Hey hey hey there mister man! I was doing the same thing. Flipping through the channels when I came upon this TALENTED group, Marshal Dyllon. Granted they stole the signature created and perfected by NSYNC move { you know the one in the BYE BYE BYE video } Marshal Dyllon is not the typical boy band. For one they actually have talent and for the fact that one of them looks like Chandler Bing and they still have the balls to make a vidoe shows a lot of courage.

hey.. Jesse just happens to be from my hometown. He is very down to earth and very nice. All of the boys are talented and they deserve to be treated like everyone else out there. I do not appericate you calling them goofy boys. They are very talented young men. Just give them a chance to prove themselves. I don’t personally know the rest of the boys (Paul, Mike, Dan, or Todd) but Jesse is a family friend and I he is not a goofy boy!! He has worked very hard to get where he is today. So please keep the rude comments to yourself… thanks

They suck. A thimblefull of talent would seem like an ocean compared to the talent of these wunderkinds.
That you’re related to/from the hometown of/once was spat upon by one or all of them doesn’t give them any more credibility. If your grand ambitions include becoming country music’s latest N’SYNC then have fun. But don’t expect us to care, nor like you for it.
The creators of the atomic bomb ‘worked hard’ too, and look what came of it.

I was just as skeptical as you were when I first saw their video “Live it Up” on CMT. At first, I saw 5 hot guys, but figured they really were just another boy band. Gosh was I wrong!!!! They’ve got so much talent and so much energy, it’s unbelievable!!! They’re a great group and they seem very down to earth and sweet. Give them a chance before you criticize. You never know!

I just purchased the Marshall Dyllon CD and I am addicted to it. “Live it Up” is just a great song.. it doesn’t matter if it is country or not, it is a great song. I am a little spectical because they are affliated with Lou Pearlman, because things with him don’t usually end well. But they are funny and seemingly down to earth guys.
Just a quick question: are Michael and Paul related? They have the same last name and they look alike.

By Tyler: “i say this casue I have met and im also related to the lead singer and he is not a pretty boy by no means, he is a good old farm boy…”

First off honey, you want to make sure when you post something on the net, you don’t come off sounding as stupid as the subject matter. Because is cut short with cause…not casue…and “he is not a pretty boy by NO means” makes you sound like the “HICK” most people think country singers are! It usually isn’t proper english to use double negatives in the same sentence…is not NO…

Anyway as a parent of a teenage daughter, I shake my head at the prospect of buying another CD. For Christmas she wanted that Billy kid and next I’m sure it’s going to be MD…I am disgusted at the name. These are singers and CDs that will never grace the boxes in the closet. I personally have record albums that are pushing 30 years old…these kids won’t last 30 days, until someone new comes along…Everyone has to be a copy cat these days…you kids are all LEMMINGS…look it up and try a little individuality for once…

Personally, “Mom” I have never heard my own mother talk about a person in such a disrecpectful way. No matter who the artist is, you have to give them props for living and achieving their dreams. Personally good for you that you have albums that are thirty years old. Nobody knows how long Marshall Dyllon is going to last, maybe a year or maybe five years. Nobody knows. But aleast they have good songs and good voices and I will enjoy the happiness they bring to my life into my life.

okay i respect the right for everyone to have their own opinion, but i think it is very unfair for some people to judge MD based soley on a quick glance of them on CMT…honestly if you don’t know them personally i think it is unfair to past judgement on them or their music..they are doing what only a few of us could ever hope to achieve..so give them a break and just let them live it up!

I personally had something against Paul on Making The Band…but now i realize that he is actually a really nice guy, and it’s not his fault he was tempted to cheat on his Girlfriend… I really like Marshall Dyllon, not because of their looks but because of their talent. They have really proven themselves in a world basically run by Pop Music, and they are in no way a country boy band.

Who the hell are you to say they’re so silly? For one, their name isn’t silly- it comes from the old western television show “Gunsmoke” and Lou Pearlman didn’t give it to them, Dan’s dad did. And Lou Pearlman isn’t the only man behind them, country legend Kenny Rogers is as well. I’m so sick of you ignorant critics seeing a group of 5 men and classifying them as a no talent boyband without even listening to them! I bet they can sing a million times better than you can or ever could, so please be quiet and respect what they’re doing. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad. Stop being so damn ignorant/

LOLOL wow…. such bitterness around here 😉 Any of you guys heard of that saying… hmm what was it… ahh yes: “Agree To Disagree”…. As far as I can see, nobody’s really going to change their minds just because someone ELSE says they should, don’t ya think? Jeepers is everyone going to drop over dead because someone doesn’t agree with how “totally talented they are” (or aren’t)? I’d certainly hope not.

Don’t label someone you’ve never met. They’re 5 GREAT guys…very sweet, very cute…God knows they’re not goofy lookin. They have talent oozing out their ears…they are amazing live and sound better than the CD. And when they sing live, it’s all them. No tape, just them and their instruments [and YES, they do play their own instruments]. I don’t understand how ANYONE can label someone without knowing the whole story. I’m not trying to change anyone’s minds…just don’t waste your time judging someone. If you don’t like them, no one is making you. But be polite and don’t rip on them. They deserve better than that.

Melissa | 6 Apr 2001

MD did not “steal” that move from *N Sync- they were pretty much making fun of it, making fun of how people see them as a boy band- *NSync wannabes….Paul knows Lance Bass…he and Michael (yes, they are brothers) are from the same town as Lance and went to school with him. These guys are talented, and I see more people are for them than against them. That is a good thing! 🙂

No matter what other people think, you just have to remember that your own opinion is what counts. I like Mashall Dyllon. I think they are very talented. Those that think otherwise, okay then. There are a lot of bands and groups that I think are no-talent hacks but I leave it at that. I don’t go bashing other musicians. Its not cool. So I say: Okay. Lets move on!

I believe that M.D. is a awesome band..they have some really good tunes/music. As some people might think though, they might be like the “n*sync/backstreet boys” of country..but really they aren’t…b/c they don’t dance…no offense…but they do have style and talent…So, congrats to M.D. and hope you hit farther than what your dream is now.

I recently worked security for a Kenny Roger’s concert. I am sorry to say that I worked it for the money and not the entertainer. As the band was doing sound checks. A young “boy band” as everybody seems to call them was rehearsing. I wasn’t paying much attetion to the rehearsal for we were prepping ourselves. Marshall Dyllon was rehearsing “Enjoy the ride”. I had to stop and listen to these guys sing. They are truly amazing. Before the show I was fortunate enough to talk with some of the band members. They are really nice guys. I bought their album that night after the show and listened to it when I got home. I liked almost every song on the CD. The “hidden” track is an amazing harmony by the group. I would recommend this CD to anyone to enjoys good spirited country music. I wish MD the best of luck and I am sure that they will succeed with that kind of talent.

Marshall Dyllon is not a “boy band”. For one they play, belive, write, sing, and just try extrememly hard on their music. You can tell by hearing the CD. I’ve only had the CD for 7 days and already I love it. The first day I put it in, it stayed there. They are a great group of guys who deserve some respect. I fully agree with you voicing your opnion but you don’t have to be so ignorant. They are not just a bunch of friggin’ pretty boys either. Sure they’re hot but look deeper than that. It’s not their look it’s their talent. And in my opnion they can sing 1000 times better than they look. And I an’t sayin’ that they ain’t fine lookin’ by that either but go for the music first not the looks. Thanks. They’re good Christian men and I’m extremely proud of them no matter what.
