Hit or Miss

Like Tim, I’ve been blowing through a lot of money buying stuff for my new apartment. I just bought new Hanes T-Shirt sheets for my Queen-sized (hehe) bed. Fortunately(?) the only place I have to buy stuff at is WalMart, so it hasn’t been too expensive.

So I went to a Financial Planning session, brought in by the university staff development committee, the other day to learn how to budget. Despite being completely heterocentric and focused on gender stereotypes, the session did teach me a couple of things – primarily what a sweet gig I have working in the residence halls.

I don’t have to worry about budgeting for monthly rent, utilities, cable, or grocery bills because I have full room and board provided. Pretty much my paycheck is all take home for savings/student loans (minus those pesky car insurance bills).
