Mellencamp is an asshole
I didn’t go to graduation yesterday because I was swamped checking people out of my quad, but students who went told about the antics of John Mellencamp, the commencement speaker who also recieved an honorary degree.
Supposedly, he started by spitting his gum of the stage before talking, then complained about how hot it was and stripped off his cap and gown. Later, after recieving his honorary degree still in his jeans and tshirt, he took off the cords and such and laid them on the ground.
All the seniors I spoke to felt like he cheapened their graduation and didn’t take it seriously enough.
I bet The Boss would have had more class.
What a shock–a guy who is on wife 3 or 4 (because he constantly cheats on them) and who won’t stop smoking despite the fact that he’s had a MASSIVE heart attack turns out to be an asshole? You were better off filling out room damage reports and taking up keys, Matt…
