The Fantasticks at 40. The longest running Off-Broadway musical, The Fantasticks, celebrates its 40th anniversary today.

I’ve always wanted to act in a production of The Fantasticks and 2 theatres I’ve worked with have announced and then abandoned proposed productions of it. I’m getting a little long in the tooth to play “The Boy,” so maybe I can play “El Gallo” someday. I just hope I don’t have to wait until I’m old enough to play “The Old Actor” before I get a shot at performing in it.
