Hit or Miss

Nope… No new links yet.

Wow. If I were you, I would be annoyed with me right now.

I keep working on the design of hit-or-miss.org and weblogs.com keeps thinking I’ve added new content and then people visit my site. Nope, no real new content yet. I just continue to tinker with my new design (which is getting closer to something I like).

I’m surprised by how many people have written to tell me they miss the bolded blue links from my old design. Do they really miss the blue, or are they just conditioned to expect links to be blue? A few folks, like Jason, like the art gallery design, so I made the link color on that version blue. Maybe I’ll let people choose which version to see when they set their preferences.

the problem is that people are conditioned to expect red links to mean VISITED links. It’s not so much that the links aren’t blue as that they really shouldn’t be red.

I think people expect the blue/red combination because it’s the default for Netscape & Internet Explorer. Oh well. I guess I really can’t control what color my links are (since people could override them in their browser), so I added “link color” to the preferences page.
