Fantasia 2000

Last night I went up to the Indianapolis Imax with Jeff and his friends to see Fantasia 2000, which we all enjoyed.  It’s hard to pick a favorite segment, but I definitely liked the Pines of Romes segment with the flying whales.  Also, during the Rhapsody in Blue segment, patterned after the line drawing style of Al Hirschfield, I noticed that the animators had hid their names in the drawings — the same way Hirschfield inserts his daughter Nina’s name into each cartoon.

Angela Lansbury introduced one of the segments.  She’s definitely showing her age.  I hope that Kander and Ebb finish writing their new show, The Visit, in time for her to perform it on Broadway.
