Now, I’m a big fan of the musical theatre and especially adventurous composers like Stephen Sondheim – so that means I believe just about any subject can be musicalized (Sondheim’s done cannibalism, assassination, and obsession).  However, I’m having a hard time picturing Ben Hur as a musical.  I can’t get the picture of Mel Brooks in History of the World: Part I out of my head.
