Crappy concert tickets

I feel a little silly revealing this, but today was the first time I’ve ever standed in line for concert tickets (I’ve never actually gone to a real, large-scale rock concert before). I heard that Ben Folds Five / Fleming & John tickets went on sale at 1 – and that they use a lottery system for standing in line – so I only got there at about 12:30. I got my lottery ticket and ended up near the back of the line, which may have happened even if I had waited hours beforehand and the line wasn’t that long anyway.

The thing that burns me up though is that we use TicketMaster here at IU, so the tickets also went on sale everywhere else at the same time. So, by the time I got up to the window, they gave me the “best available seat,” which happened to be 13th row all the way on the left side. I’m not very excited about being on the left side, but I guess it’s better than being all the way in the back of the house.

I am very excited about this upcoming concert. Like I said, it’ll be the first real rock concert I’ve ever been to — I guess it’ll be the way to start out my 25th year right.
